Case description
An anonymous fisherman was said to have witnessed a landing at Libreville, Gabon, on the night of December 25, 1963. Jacques Vallée included the incident in his 1969 landing catalogue, citing an earlier reference and Lumières dans la Nuit number 70. The accessible account is exceptionally brief and does not identify the fisherman or describe the exact shore where he was standing.
The reported sequence is that an unusual craft landed, a frightening human-shaped creature came out and uttered sounds the fisherman did not understand. It allegedly left footprints in sand, returned to the machine and departed. The surviving summary supplies no intelligible message, exchange, pursuit or injury. It also gives no dependable height, skin colour, facial structure, clothing, footprint measurements or physical design for the object.
Those omissions materially limit what can be reconstructed. The ledger's small-humanoid or Grey classification should not become a claim that large black eyes or another specific alien appearance was observed. Likewise, the footprint statement is not accompanied by photographs, casts, measurements or an identified examiner. The plate uses a contextual sandy shoreline, an ordinary fisherman and unresolved silhouettes for the being and object, clearly marked as a sparse account. It illustrates the catalogue claim without supplying a detailed encounter that the source does not contain.
