Case description
Jean Sénac of Libaros, a seventy-one-year-old former soldier and farmer, described a daylight experience near Maraunats on the D21 road while looking toward Sentous. In the original Lagarde–Mirtain report he placed it in the first half of July 1964, possibly the eighth or ninth, at 10:30 a.m. Roughly 250 metres away, a brilliantly shining object hovered just above the roadside. Glare prevented him resolving its shape; he estimated a length of two and a half to three metres and approximately car height.
It suddenly rose and sped toward Puydarrieux. Only afterward did he notice two small figures, estimated at 1.15 metres tall, walking beside the hedge. They wore khaki, appeared bent beneath sacks on their backs, and passed through a gap toward a chestnut tree in bracken. Sénac took his cows home, then returned by bicycle.
He reported trampled vegetation beneath the tree and possible footmarks, but expressly declined certainty about the latter. No sampling activity was witnessed. Flying Saucer Review published the account in 1969 from an earlier LDLN report. The plate combines successive phases; the ledger's definite saucer shape is less secure than the original witness's unresolved glare-covered outline.
