Near Fortaleza, Brazil being encounter — April 3, 1965

Two traveling salesmen reportedly encountered an unusual object while driving toward Fortaleza, Ceará, on April 3,1965, around 11:20 p.m. The accessible reporting chain runs through later summaries citing Bob Pratt’s UFO Danger Zone, page 219, and Richard Haines. The witnesses’ names and original interview materials have not been independently recovered here. They said a bright red, lamp-like object directed light toward their car, descended overhead and was followed by vibration, failed headlights and a sideways skid. A red globe then reportedly settled ahead of the vehicle, and two robot-like humanoids approached. The men got out, one carrying a rifle which he fired. A flash or explosion-like event allegedly left them temporarily unable to see or hear; by the time vision returned, the object and figures had gone. The comparison to robots supplies no secured mechanical anatomy, dimensions, clothing or facial features. The sensory effects and vehicle malfunction have no retrieved medical or technical corroboration. The plate shows two representative men, their stopped car, two indistinct rigid-looking forms and a red sphere before the reported shot. It omits injury and gunfire effects and does not present the later disappearance as an observed departure.
