A man identified as Mr. Harris and a female companion reportedly watched an unusual object near Ottawa’s Carlington Heights pumping station during an August evening in 1965. Coral and Jim Lorenzen’s fuller account explains that investigator Louis J. Normandin did not learn about the incident until 1972, seven years later. The delay had left Harris unable to recall many details.
The pair were parked at the base of an underground reservoir between approximately 9 and 10 p.m. An extremely bright light illuminated the area, and they saw a glowing object approach above the reservoir. Four searchlightlike beams shone downward. The object stopped around fifteen to twenty feet above the reservoir, and a sliding opening revealed one figure, then two more. Harris described them only as dark and shiny; he could not supply height or facial features.
His companion became frightened and urged him to leave. They drove away while the object was still present, so no departure or actual landing was witnessed. Other cars had been nearby, but Harris did not establish additional witnesses. He initially thought an Air Force experiment might explain what they saw. The scene therefore should not be expanded into an observed underwater operation: the reservoir was underground, not an open lake. Some later video descriptions confuse the 1972 interview year with the encounter year. The plate follows the fuller 1965 account and preserves the occupants as silhouettes.
