Case description
Early on August 13, 1965, Ellen Grace Ryerson, sixteen, and her sister Laura Jean, thirteen, were dropped at a beanfield on Russell Road near Renton, Washington. Their father noticed two figures beside the road as he drove away. The girls also saw them and moved closer.
They described unusually large, protruding eyes, grayish skin and unfamiliar facial proportions. One figure appeared wrinkled and wore a small hat; the other had a large head and held something resembling a whistle near its mouth. Their clothing was described as trousers, light shirts and purple sleeveless garments. The girls became frightened and ran. When they looked back, the figures were no longer visible.
The girls reported the encounter to the police. No aerial craft was reported in this sequence, and neither girl described being taken away. The incident is therefore narrated as the close encounter and flight they reported, without adding a boarding scene or a vehicle absent from their account.
