Case description
An anonymous man reportedly observed this incident near the new Ohio State University campus at Mansfield on the night of March 30, 1966. The catalogue gives about 10 p.m. He was sitting in a parked car when he saw a round object bearing two lights descend and land near the campus buildings.
A door reportedly opened, revealing a very thin figure of childlike stature. The source describes size and build, not a human child or a detailed alien species. The object then began moving toward the man's car before rising rapidly and disappearing. The compressed Atlas ledger turns that movement into a pursuit; the fuller catalogue wording supports an approach toward the car, without a documented extended chase.
Jacques Vallée included the account as Magonia case 742, citing Robert Gribble's June 1966 reporting, and it later entered HUMCAT. The accessible summary supplies no named corroborating witness, photograph, landing trace, conversation or detailed face. Military and Blue Book classification tags should therefore not be read as evidence that a military observer verified the occupant. The plate preserves the anonymous witness, round two-light object, open doorway and unusually thin small figure, while identifying the remaining construction details as interpretive.
