Los Alcazares Military Camp, Sp being encounter — April 1966

An approximate April 1966 date is attached to a soldier's reported encounter outside the Los Alcázares military camp in Murcia. Vicente-Juan Ballester Olmos's catalogue places it at about 2 a.m. and describes a sentry observing two very small figures. The short Hatch entry preserves their approximate height and head shape but does not supply the soldier's name. The figures reportedly crossed the military area and the nearby road before disappearing among palm trees. They were estimated at sixty-five centimetres tall, with short legs, very long arms, rounded abdomens and heads shaped like inverted pears. Their colour was described as bright green, with yellow, phosphorescent-looking lenses or eyes. These are witness descriptions, not measurements made through an examination. The soldier called for help. A researcher who came to him reportedly found him acutely frightened; that observation supports the account of distress, rather than independently establishing the figures' identity. No craft, landing, boarding, conversation or recovered material is described. The source compares their appearance with another Spanish case, but the comparison does not make the other event part of this encounter. The reconstruction uses a plain green covering for the figures because the original's impression of nakedness is anatomically unspecified, while retaining their small size and distinctive proportions.
