Six-year-old Kim Baker reported seeing a lens-shaped metallic object near her home in Bingham, Maine, on April 23, 1966. The HUMCAT-derived entry places the sighting at 2:15 p.m.; a later video retelling calls it morning. The object reportedly descended into a nearby field and landed only a few yards from her. It was estimated at eighteen feet across, with red lights on its sides and a flashing green light above.
Through a rectangular window Kim said she saw a man's face. He smiled and winked, removed a transparent bubble-like helmet and appeared to speak, although she could not hear his words. When he stood, she could see shiny white clothing with numerous black buttons on the chest. The account places him inside the object throughout: it does not describe him walking out to approach the child.
The craft then departed. Kim's parents reportedly examined the location and found a circular patch of broken or flattened pussy willows, approximately fifteen feet across. Richard Bonenfant is cited as the investigator. The vegetation claim provides an aftermath to the child's story, but the accessible summaries do not establish an independent analysis proving its cause. The plate therefore shows the reported window exchange at a safe distance, without adding physical contact or an abduction.
