Harold Lenz near Howard Lake / Winsted — January 25, 1967
Near Howard Lake, driving toward Winsted, Minnesota, United States
Open this case in the interactive AtlasCase description
On January 25, 1967, Harold Lenz was driving through rural Minnesota near Howard Lake on the way toward Winsted. The surviving Atlas record places the encounter along that route in midwinter and associates it with both an unusual object and a reported being.
Lenz encountered the anomaly from the road. The catalogue material describes an object close enough to move the report beyond a distant-light sighting, with an apparently humanoid figure observed in association with it. The current accessible packet does not preserve a complete transcript, however, so exact measurements, colors, gestures and the duration of each stage cannot be treated as settled.
The encounter ended without a documented abduction, exchange of objects or confirmed physical injury. No authenticated photograph or instrument record is attached to the dossier. Two Atlas catalogue rows repeat the same witness, route and date; they are treated as one incident, not two independent witnesses.
CE3 is retained because the reported figure is central to the case. The portrait reconstructs the snowy Minnesota road, Lenz's stopped period automobile and a distant object with an indistinct figure. It avoids inventing anatomy or action not supported by the surviving summary. It is illustrative, not evidence.
