Case description
A short HUMCAT entry places this report near Valensole, France, in late January 1967. Five anonymous people reportedly encountered a small bearded figure inside an old deserted building. The source attributes the investigation to Charles Bowen and Aimé Michel and cites their account in Flying Saucer Review, volume 14, number 1, page 12.
The witnesses were said to have pursued the figure, which escaped through a window and disappeared. A fuller later retelling places the group there for repairs and says an invisible force prevented them from catching it. Those additions should remain attributed to the retelling rather than treated as independently established effects. The figure was compared with the beings described by Maurice Masse in 1965, except for its beard. That comparison does not establish identical anatomy, shared identity or a spacecraft nearby.
The available summary gives no exact day, time, witness names, precise building location or dependable description of clothing, eyes and other facial features. It describes no observed craft. Nor does it establish where the figure went after leaving the window. The plate selects the building encounter with five representative adults and a small, large-headed bearded figure, leaving unreported details restrained. It does not borrow Masse’s 1965 landing scene or add a force-field effect.
