Case description
The Holbæk case has a significant dating problem. The Atlas assigns May 11, 1967 at approximately 1 p.m., but a reproduced MUFORG report identifies that day as the publication date of a local newspaper account. The farmer's experience was described as occurring late one night on an unspecified earlier date. Another catalogue places it in autumn 1965 at 11 p.m.; these versions cannot be confidently reconciled.
The unnamed farmer noticed an artificial-looking lilac light over his fields and walked toward it. He then saw a dark object with a dome and nearly oval luminous windows. Something seemed to move behind them, but he did not resolve a detailed occupant. Shaken, he returned home and went to bed. The following day he reportedly found pressed grass and an exceptionally fine cotton-like substance, unusually coloured and barely perceptible to touch. A sample placed beneath a stone gradually vanished over three days.
The account also mentions a low wire pulled down and dragged along the ground. No preserved specimen, laboratory result or identified electrical inspection was recovered. Later versions add a human-like operator and a departure over the farmer, details absent from the earlier reproduced statement. The plate follows the simpler window-shadow account and explicitly leaves both the event date and figure unresolved.
