Serra Da Mantiquera, Brz being encounter — June 7, 1967

Geraldo Barqueira reportedly was driving a station wagon up the Serra da Mantiqueira at 1:30 a.m. on June 7, 1967, when a flashing red light approached. In the APRO account, his engine faltered in time with the flashes, then stopped along with the headlights. The object was estimated to be twenty to thirty metres away as its color changed toward blue. The report distinguishes that initial sequence from details obtained under hypnosis. During the hypnotic account, Barqueira described a round object approximately five metres across and several metres high. Five faces resembling cats reportedly watched through side windows. The object was then said to depart with a buzzing sound in the direction from which it had arrived. The striking feline comparison belongs specifically to the hypnosis-derived material. The source does not describe five creatures walking around the car or identify their bodies, clothing or exact facial anatomy. APRO published the account in its November–December 1967 Bulletin. A vehicle stoppage and later recovered narrative do not independently establish a causal mechanism or extraterrestrial occupants. The illustration labels its combination of the consciously reported road encounter and hypnotically described window faces as a composite, preserving the difference between those stages.
