Case description
At approximately 2:30 a.m. on 15 June 1967, a report catalogued at York, North Dakota, described a glowing cylindrical or cigar-shaped object traveling west over U.S. Route 2. The compact source distinguishes three people in a truck from at least one separate observer. It gives the object's size as about four meters and characterizes the view as close, without preserving a measured distance or the observers' names in the accessible summary.
The witnesses reportedly saw a figure in what they interpreted as a cockpit. The object then climbed away at an angle. That is the complete recoverable sequence in this entry: westward movement along the highway, an apparent occupant and an ascending departure. It contains no described landing, conversation, boarding, pursuit, physical contact or injury, and supplies no facial anatomy, clothing or other identifying details for the figure.
Larry Hatch's reference points to Don Flickenger's North Dakota UFO files, copied by Tom Tulien, rather than to a readily inspectable published case report. An exact matching expanded account was not located in the consulted public chronologies. Consequently, the dimensions and cockpit interpretation remain reported estimates, while witness independence cannot be evaluated from separate statements here. The sparse record warrants an explicitly limited reconstruction rather than invented dialogue, a named alien type or imported details from unrelated North Dakota sightings.
