Case description
Stanley Moxon, a twenty-year-old motorist travelling from Toronto toward Montreal, reported an encounter near Joyceville, Ontario, on August 23, 1967. The fuller HUMCAT account places it at approximately 4 a.m., despite the evening time assigned in the imported catalogue. He noticed a green light and turned onto a side road to investigate.
Moxon said that after switching his headlights back on he could see a lens-shaped, greenish object and short, bulky figures in white suits and helmets nearby. In the HUMCAT version there were two figures, apparently occupied with some activity beside the object. They returned to it, and it departed rapidly without a conventional engine noise.
The Kingston Whig-Standard reported the story on August 24, and an account followed in the September–October 1967 APRO Bulletin. Later summaries differ: one gives three occupants and a bowl-like object on three supports. Soil or specimen collection is an interpretation of their activity in those retellings, not a recovered sample. The Atlas retains these source differences instead of presenting the variants as additional witnesses.
