East / Fos-Sur-Mer, FR being encounter — January 29, 1968

An anonymous twenty-two-year-old mechanic, identified in some accounts as Mr L., reportedly encountered a landed object near Pont de la Roque between Fos-sur-Mer and Port-Saint-Louis-du-Rhône in 1968. January 29 is the ledger date; the HUMCAT version gives March 29. Both place the event shortly after 1 a.m., while he was travelling by motorbike near an electrical transformer. A white-lit opening reportedly appeared beneath the saucer and a short, thin, human-looking man descended by a ramp. The visitor was described as approximately 1.5 metres tall, with cropped blond or white hair and a pale, shining, heavily stitched outfit with a rolled collar. He examined the ground, noticed the mechanic, and returned inside. The object then departed, one version mentioning a gust of cool air. The mechanic reportedly felt unable to move, but could not distinguish physical paralysis from fear. Later sleeplessness and a claimed premonitory dream belong to the aftermath; no documented abduction or measured missing-time interval follows from them. Patrick Gross's dossier traces fragmentary versions through Jimmy Guieu, French catalogues and HUMCAT, and flags the anonymous witness and absent investigation report. The year-only plate title preserves the unresolved month conflict.
