Olavarria, Arg being encounter — July 26, 1968

Press reports from Olavarría, Buenos Aires province, described an alleged nighttime confrontation near the Tapalqué area and a military installation during July 1968. The story involved an unusual illuminated object, several humanlike figures, and personnel who reportedly fired before becoming unable to act. The chronology varies: the imported entry uses July 26, other catalogues use July 25, and Roberto Banchs's review traces the local story to July 19. Banchs reproduces the newspaper's account of attempting to obtain military confirmation and the authorities' denial. A later DIA compilation lists the Argentine newspaper coverage; preservation of a clipping is not confirmation that the reported event occurred. Versions differ over whether police or soldiers were involved. The illustration uses July 1968 and reconstructs the disputed account's oval craft on short supports, three tall humanlike figures in silver clothing holding luminous objects, and the uniformed patrol beside its jeep. Its explicit Disputed Report label preserves the military denial; the image cannot establish either the confrontation or a paralyzing technology.
