Case description
The stored Tapalqué record summarises newspaper reports from several Buenos Aires province locations in July 1968, including La Pastora and General Alvear. It should not be read as one precisely timed encounter. A surviving United States defence-intelligence report confirms that newspaper clippings were collected, including a La Razón item describing officers firing toward three alleged occupants near Olavarría and another article mentioning Tapalqué.
Fuller retellings describe a bright, buzzing oval object manoeuvring near the Tapalqué stream and an emergency landing strip. After it settled and dimmed, three figures over two metres tall reportedly emerged in silver clothing. Officers said they fired without an apparent effect. The figures raised small luminous objects, after which the witnesses felt exhausted or unable to respond. The occupants returned to the craft, which departed, and the officers recovered.
Accounts disagree over 19, 26 or 30 July, whether the witnesses were police or military personnel, and the patrol’s size. Failure to observe an impact does not demonstrate bulletproof bodies; the claimed fatigue likewise has no established mechanism. The DIA document verifies circulation of the press stories, not the extraordinary events themselves. The plate follows the five-officer, three-occupant newspaper summary, uses month-level dating and shows a neutral observational moment. Separate sightings elsewhere in the regional clipping collection remain contextual rather than independent confirmation of this encounter.
