Case description

A couple and their two children near Upton were reportedly awakened by their dog barking late on 28 July 1968. The father went to investigate and saw a sparkling, rotating, cloud-like object in the yard. It was described as approximately twelve feet, or 3.5 metres, across, luminous above and dark below. It passed close over him toward a neighbouring field. There he reportedly saw four or five beings, each under a metre tall, chasing cattle. Their most distinctive feature was an elongated, bottle-shaped head. As the luminous object moved above them, the figures disappeared. The account does not explain whether they entered it, were obscured by it or vanished in another way. Later summaries say the cattle remained unsettled for weeks. That reaction is not a documented diagnosis of illness in the family or animals. The fuller source trail runs through John Brent Musgrave’s UFO Occupants and Critters and Henri Bordeleau’s earlier material. Exact late-night times vary slightly between catalogues. No human removal is described, despite imported abduction-related codes associated with animal activity. The reported object is cloud-like rather than a clearly outlined mechanical saucer, and the beings’ detailed faces and clothing are not supplied. The illustration preserves those limits, showing the father, dog, cattle and small bottle-headed silhouettes in the same farm setting.
