Case description

At approximately 21:30 on 6 August 1968, four adolescent boys near St-Gertrude, Québec, reportedly noticed their dog barking furiously and pulling against its tether. A creaking noise drew their attention toward the hedge beside it. They said a luminous humanlike figure emerged from that position. The fuller summary describes the figure as about four feet tall, broad-shouldered and long-armed, with its arms hanging down. It reportedly disappeared very quickly in front of the boys. The compact Hatch entry also mentions jumping or leaping, but the cited retrospective narrative emphasizes the brief appearance and disappearance rather than a detailed series of bounds. No face, eye shape, clothing, dialogue or contact is supplied, and no associated craft is described. The published source trail leads to John Brent Musgrave’s UFO Occupants and Critters and later humanoid catalogues; the native Hatch provenance also cites Lumières dans la Nuit. The summary does not name the boys or provide photographs, measurements or an independent explanation for the dog’s behaviour. This remains a reported creature observation. Other 1968 Québec encounters had different witnesses and details and cannot supply missing features or a vehicle for this episode.
