Case description
Margaret Sprankle reported that she was returning from work at Tinker Field in late August 1946 when she noticed a large metallic object near Oklahoma City. Later catalogue accounts place the observation at about 5:15 p.m., approximately one hundred yards from her. The object resembled a lens or disc standing on edge, with its broad surface facing her.
In its lower-right portion she could see a grid of approximately twelve to fourteen square openings. Each appeared to contain a head-and-shoulders silhouette against a darker background. The heads seemed round, perhaps bald or helmeted. No clear faces, conversation or figures outside the object were described. Its diameter was retrospectively estimated at roughly seventy-five feet.
After about a minute and a half, the object reportedly changed orientation until horizontal. Sprankle could then see that openings were present on both sides. It accelerated away and vanished within seconds, remaining silent throughout the observation.
The account reached investigators decades afterward. NICAP cites a fourteen-page case summary by Ted Bloecher and interviews involving Bloecher, Lucius Farish and Mildred Higgins; later literature also points to a 1974 Skylook article. This is a retrospectively investigated occupant observation, without a reported landing or abduction.
