Case description
Four very young girls reported an unusual object at Santiponce in late August 1968. Investigators gave their ages as four, five, five and eight. The earliest press version described a silver, round, table-like object with coloured lights on a grassy area, and claimed an adult woman also saw it. Later interviews did not support that adult corroboration.
The children described green and white lights, two small elongated windows and, in one version, two black wheel-like forms. A normal-looking man stood nearby, generally described in black trousers and a brown checked shirt, although another interview gives a white shirt. The girls disagreed about his height. He was not described with a clearly nonhuman face. When their parents came, they saw only a man with a bicycle across the road.
Rafael Llamas interviewed the girls separately and proposed a caravan mistaken for an unusual object, noting vehicle access, wheels, windows and agricultural traces. Felipe Laffitte and Manuel Osuna disputed that explanation: they reported a circular flattened area at a different location and no vehicle track leading into it. Ballester Olmos published both sides and left the case unresolved.
The date 31 August is approximate; Hatch retains only the month. Its shorthand about a figure entering a saucer and footprints is firmer than the fuller disputed evidence warrants. The plate follows the children's reported appearance, with an ordinary man and an explicit caravan-dispute label, without claiming a verified spacecraft or boarding.
