Near Setcases, Sp being encounter — October 19, 1968

A short report attributed to a UEC mountain-climbing group says an object landed in the Setcases area of the Catalan Pyrenees and two small figures emerged. The imported catalogue assigns 19 October 1968 and approximately 3 a.m.; other compilations give 11 October and use the locality La Pedrera, Girona. No detailed description of the figures or their actions is available in the checked short account. A 2022 historical study of Juli Roca Muntañola's correspondence supplies a more revealing source trail. Roca said he had learned about the Setcases episode through a CEI member, who had heard it from hikers belonging to a Barcelona excursion centre. He had no further detailed information. In a later letter, discussed in the study's section on his January reply, Roca reported that the supposed witnesses had supplied false identities. An archived 2007 list attributed to Larry Hatch also records an assessment of fraud by an Anomalía Foundation researcher. The underlying witness identities and a complete independent investigation were not recovered, so the record preserves the assessment and its documentary limits rather than presenting the story as verified. The plate is explicitly a disputed, sparse account; geography, group size, clothing and craft appearance are illustrative choices.
