Case description

The November 14, 1968 Zafra case survives in materially different versions. An early catalogue by Vicente-Juan Ballester Olmos places a motorist near kilometre three of the Zafra–Huelva road around 10:45 p.m. It describes an approximately two-metre figure with unusually long arms, phosphorescent green clothing and a black facial area. The account links the encounter with engine trouble, a damaged watch and a wind-like noise despite still air. In an interview about fourteen years later, driver Manuel Trejo Rodríguez gave a more ordinary-looking description. Returning with charcoal in his Citroën, he initially thought a roadside figure might be a Civil Guard officer. He said the engine and headlights failed while passing it and recovered after roughly twenty metres. When he stopped and looked back, the figure had vanished. He estimated normal human height, longer hair and a close-fitting suit covered with many small red, green and blue lights, rather than a wholly green giant with a black face. Trejo also described an earlier malfunction on his outward journey and said mechanics later found no fault. His watch allegedly stopped at 10:50 p.m. The interview's separately reported tripod-supported object belongs two nights later and must not be inserted into this roadside encounter. The plate follows the early catalogue variant and shows no spacecraft; the discrepancies remain unresolved.
