Case description
An anonymous woman identified as Madame B. reportedly watched three small figures on the bare slopes of Puy-de-Chanturge near Clermont-Ferrand in March 1969. The HUMCAT entry specifies an afternoon observation, at a claimed distance of about six hundred feet. It credits the Clermont-Riom investigation circle and a July 1972 Lumières dans la Nuit report.
The figures appeared squat and uniformly grey. They reportedly moved rapidly back and forth without seeming to touch the ground, then disappeared after three or four minutes. The preserved summary gives no faces, clothing details, dialogue, vehicle or means of arrival. Calling them grey in color does not establish the later familiar grey-alien appearance.
A separate October entry describes a much larger, dark, cloaked silhouette at the site, seen on more than one occasion. Its 2:30 p.m. time belongs to that later account and should not become an exact March time. Neither entry establishes a deliberate exchange or a UFO association. The plate illustrates only the March scene, with a representative woman and three distant, unresolved forms; it does not combine the later silhouette or add a craft.
