Belo Horizonte, Brz being encounter — March 22, 1969

On 22 March 1969, around 8 p.m., two girls returning home in Belo Horizonte’s Colégio Batista district reportedly noticed a luminous object in the western sky. A fuller account describes blue light, a ring of white lights and an apparent spinning motion. The imported shorthand’s “20 hours” is a time of day, not a twenty-hour observation. Later at home, one girl looked through a window and saw a short humanlike figure near the gate, approximately ten metres away. It wore a diving-suit-like covering with a soft green luminosity and a helmet through which she distinguished brightly shining eyes, compared with a cat’s eyes in darkness. She called the others. A second girl reportedly saw the figure in profile; a third helped the first, who was extremely frightened. These roles should not be compressed into three independent sightings of the being. The same account describes a boyfriend’s separate encounter elsewhere in the city: streetlights failed and he briefly saw two faint figures high beside the street. That episode does not establish a shared craft or occupants. The narrative is attributed to CICOANI and survives in later compilations. Rafael Lara's brief rendering instead describes cat-eye-shaped helmet bulbs, leaving eyes versus lights uncertain. No original signed statements, physical trace or demonstrated connection between the earlier aerial light and the gate figure was recovered here.
