Case description
David Arychuk was exercising his dog near Calgary on the evening of 26 April 1969 when the animal reportedly stopped and shivered. At a distance of roughly 200 yards he saw a circular object estimated at nine metres across and six metres high. The description emphasizes a cream-coloured, pitted surface and three pulsating red lights on its upper part.
Two unusually tall men in dark clothing stood between Arychuk and the object, approximately 100 yards from him. Thinking they might be acquaintances, he called out to them. They did not answer in the account; instead, they walked around the farther side of the object. Arychuk also described an unpleasant, nauseating odour, likened to a combination of sweetness and bitterness. With his dog frightened, he returned home.
He subsequently went back with his stepfather, but the object and the men had gone. The peculiar smell was said to remain detectable the following day. The source trail includes W. K. Allan's report in Saucers, Space and Science, number 62, and later Canadian case compilations. The account describes tall, humanlike men, not documented large-headed beings, and gives no detailed faces or demonstrated communication. The plate brings the separated witness, figures and object into a readable scene while retaining the distinctive cream surface and three red upper lights.
