Yellowstone Pk, WY abduction report — June 1969

During June 1969, Wendel Meyer, Nancy Jensen and Nancy's young son were travelling from Minnesota toward California when they reported a series of unsettling events on the journey from the Yellowstone area toward Salt Lake City. Nancy and the child had been asleep, and Wendel remembered driving in a dazed state. Near Salt Lake City the car struck a roadside post after he found the steering difficult to control; the occupants described surprisingly little resulting damage. After they stopped to change a tyre, Wendel felt watched and handed the driving to Nancy. She too reported that sensation. Lights behind the car first appeared to belong to another road vehicle, but then rose and paced them. They described a strange vehicle-like form, a luminous cabin and repeated appearances as the journey continued. Both became unusually tired and alternated at the wheel. The next morning they reported approaching another vehicle and seeing figures with dark clothing and indistinct, unnaturally grinning faces. Later experiences included the appearance of a hooded figure. These episodes extended the case beyond a single roadside sighting. During hypnotic sessions in 1974–75, the pair described additional onboard scenes. Nancy recalled perceiving a cabin occupied by small, large-headed beings; Wendel described floating into a domed interior with small humanoids. Those later recollections are distinguished from the road journey they consciously remembered. Yellowstone and Salt Lake City are successive locations in this same case history.
