Case description
Fred Yoos, a sixty-two-year-old night employee in Olds, Alberta, reportedly heard a loud metallic clattering on July 1, 1969. He initially associated the noise with a low aircraft or people hammering metal, and said the building shook. Looking through a window, he saw a large green object descending from dense cloud to the northwest. Fuller accounts give 6:15 a.m., while INTCAT prints 9:15; the references to low morning sunlight fit the earlier time more naturally, but do not resolve the discrepancy by themselves.
The object reportedly stopped approximately fifty feet away, close to the ground. Through a windowlike opening Yoos could make out two head outlines turning. The noise ceased. He described the craft as oval or egg-shaped, about twenty feet long, rather than the cylinder of the compressed Atlas entry. It then reportedly turned slightly and rose vertically, eventually moving eastward.
An impression was said to remain at the site, but the accessible summaries do not provide a laboratory finding or an authenticated photograph establishing its cause. Musgrave cites CAPRO material, while HUMCAT-derived accounts credit Ted Phillips. The two occupants’ faces, clothing and anatomy are not described reliably enough to reconstruct beyond silhouettes. The plate follows that limitation and treats the building and witness likeness as contextual.
