El Castanuelo, Sp being encounter — 1970

El Castañuelo, near Aracena in Huelva, appears in a series of reports of unusual lights and possible landings during 1970–1971. The imported catalogue compresses this activity into a 1970 entry. Vicente-Juan Ballester Olmos’s landing study provides a more concrete daylight episode involving a local herder named Juanito. That account, catalogued under December 1970, describes the forty-three-year-old man tending goats with his dog roughly a kilometre and a half southeast of the village. He heard a buzzing noise compared with an electric saw. Following the animals toward the road, he reportedly encountered an upright, aluminium-coloured object resembling a refrigerator. The object was described as standing on four supports, approximately one metre wide and two and a half metres high, with low windows and two lights arranged vertically. These particulars belong to the herder’s reported landing, rather than to every light seen in the wider local series. No occupant is described in this episode. The Atlas illustrates the witness, animals and unusual object without inventing a humanoid or turning several sightings into one continuous encounter.
