Terrace, Bc being encounter — February 1970

A second-grade boy near Terrace reportedly encountered a small greenish figure while returning to school after lunch toward the end of February 1970. The meeting occurred near trees in a field used as a shortcut. The boy described someone about his own height, under four feet, with conspicuously large bare feet and a comparatively small head. Nearby was a round object; he inferred that the figure had come from it without seeing an exit. The figure allegedly spoke incomprehensibly, used a belt-carried instrument to dispense material into its own hand, flattened it and gave it to the boy. The boy mentioned long fingernails. Looking back after moving away, he found both figure and object gone. A teacher subsequently described a hard, yellowish patty flecked with green, then an apparent reduction in its size. It was unavailable when the boy later retold his story. Canadian UFO Report’s summer 1970 article is unusually candid about its limits: the editors had interviewed the teacher, withheld identities, and lacked time for a thorough check. Clothing, facial features and the round object’s nature remained unresolved. The Hatch record carries a hoax code, but the consulted sources supply no confession or definitive identification. The image therefore labels the story disputed and preserves its distinctive small head and large feet.
