Case description
Kalle Tiihonen reported an encounter in his home at Kursu, in the Salla municipality of Finland, on April 15, 1970. The imported catalogue gives approximately noon, while the fuller Finnish account places it at about 5 p.m. Tiihonen, described as a former athlete, had finished using the sauna and was drinking coffee in the kitchen. He and family members reportedly heard a sound resembling a swarm of bees. Feeling that someone was behind him, he turned toward the doorway.
He said a creature about 1.2 metres tall stood there in a close-fitting, shiny green suit and helmet. Its large, very dark eyes nevertheless seemed humanlike to him. Tiihonen asked where it came from and understood the reply as space, although he could not decide whether he heard speech or received a mental message. He also asked whether the Apollo 13 astronauts would return safely and understood an affirmative answer.
The visitor allegedly promised to return, then stepped backward and vanished as the buzzing sound resumed. The fuller account says it disappeared instantly; it does not independently establish the catalogue’s claim of walking through a wall. Tiihonen’s eight-year-old son, in a separate room, reportedly heard his father talking but could not see the figure. The boy said he saw a bright object land on the grass outside and later lift off.
These are distinct family observations, not a shared view of the humanoid. The illustration labels its kitchen-and-outdoor composition as a sequence composite, keeps the craft only an indistinct bright object, and does not present the reported Apollo answer as independently verified foreknowledge.
