Case description
The June 4, 1970, Évillers story concerns schoolchildren playing at an abandoned house near woodland in the Doubs. Their account entered the local investigation associated with schoolteacher Jean Tyrode and Lumières dans la Nuit. The imported record gives an afternoon start around 2:50 p.m. and four small figures.
A fuller retelling says the children watched short beings in red clothing, likening them to little gendarmes. The catalogue mentions large sacks or pouches at their belts and behaviour suggesting they hid when vehicles passed. The children also described a very large grey, dog-like animal with unusually sturdy legs. It was said to leap from the house and accompany the figures toward the forest.
A teacher reportedly collected the children’s drawings the following day and inspected unusual marks where the animal had landed. These are reported follow-up observations, not a zoological identification. The house burned several days later, but the retelling provides no evidence linking the fire to the figures. No spacecraft was seen in this particular episode. Its inclusion among occupant reports reflects the unusual beings and surrounding local UFO literature, rather than a witnessed arrival from a craft.
