Several miniature-object stories were reported around Bukit Mertajam, Penang, in August 1970. One account dated August 19 concerns six schoolchildren who said a very small blue disc landed on bushes near their school. Hatch’s wave entry gives approximately 6 p.m. and a craft about twenty-three centimetres across.
Five tiny humanlike figures, estimated at only three inches tall, reportedly emerged. One wore yellow and four wore blue. They appeared to install an aerial on a branch, after which the children became frightened and ran away. A different daylight account for the same date describes a single ten-year-old seeing about twenty-five small objects and tiny occupants before the school bell interrupted him. Neither summary supplies reliable facial anatomy.
Ahmad Jamaluddin later collected the Malaysian reports for Flying Saucer Review. The following day produced further stories involving attempts to catch small figures and alleged weapon effects; those should not be folded into the August 19 scene. The number of accounts in a wave does not establish that the same object or occupants were independently identified. The plate follows the six-child, one-disc, five-figure version and leaves out disputed details belonging to later episodes.
