Hiker Glenn Weston was said to have encountered an unusual object while camping beyond the backwaters of Warragamba Dam, in the Burragorang district of New South Wales, during 1971. Rex Gilroy’s January 1978 Psychic Australian account gives the year but no exact day; a later UFO Roundup retelling supplies January. Hatch also supplies a time, which is not independently secured by the retrieved earlier narrative.
Weston reportedly awoke to a loud humming, took his torch and walked through the bush toward the sound. A white glow illuminated a clearing where he saw an approximately egg-shaped structure. Dark manlike forms seemed to move quickly around it. While he watched from the trees, they disappeared into the object, its glow faded and it rose silently. He returned to camp and left the valley the following morning.
The available source does not securely describe the figures’ faces, clothing or number; Hatch’s four is a catalogue detail. Gilroy’s broader speculation about an underground extraterrestrial base is not evidence that Weston discovered one. No photograph, material sample or independent observer is established. The plate shows a representative camper with a torch, an egg-shaped glow and four low-detail forms as an approximate catalogue interpretation. It labels the source limits and does not add tunnels or a base.
Film gives1971 and a position south of the Warragamba backwaters, calling the valleyJamison; Atlas fuller source places it in Burragorang. No exact day is secured, number/faces/clothing are unresolved, and the film does not establish an underground base or independent physical evidence.
