Case description
At about 6 p.m. on February 16, 1971, Åke Westerberg was reportedly waiting for a bus near Stråken, Sweden, when he noticed a small manlike figure standing motionless in the road, approximately fifty feet away. His curiosity led him to move closer. The description preserved in the HUMCAT synopsis emphasizes that he could not distinguish a face, only a gray patch where it should have been.
As Westerberg approached, he heard a growling sound. A sudden white flash was so bright that he closed his eyes for several seconds. When he looked again, the figure was gone. The account does not describe a visible departure route, entry into a vehicle or an aerial object. The abbreviated Hatch record additionally mentions a box at the figure's belt, but that detail is not confirmed by the recovered HUMCAT summary.
HUMCAT cites FSR Case Histories 4, pages 13–14, which in turn referenced Norrlandska Social-Demokraten of February 26, 1971. This provides a contemporary publication trail, although the original newspaper interview and any follow-up investigation were not recovered here. The plate preserves the short figure and unresolved face; its clothing, small waist box, bus-stop design and winter surroundings are illustrative. No spacecraft or detailed extraterrestrial anatomy is supported by this account.
