Northwest / Gladstone, Aus abduction report — August 1, 1971

Two people travelling by car northwest of Gladstone, Australia, reported a circle of lights during a journey dated August 1, 1971. The episode is described in Bill Chalker's The Oz Files and preserved in the source catalogue as an unusual travel experience. Afterward, the travellers believed that a trip normally taking about two hours had taken only forty minutes. This is a report of arriving sooner than expected, rather than a statement that two hours were missing. Oil and unspecified marks were also reported on the vehicle. The available digest does not describe seeing beings, entering a craft or the route taken during the shortened journey. It also does not give measurements or an explanation for the material and marks. The lights, the travellers' time comparison and the reported vehicle traces form the surviving sequence.
