Case description
In the early hours of August 17, 1971, John Hodges and Peter Rodriguez reportedly encountered two unusual forms in the headlights of Hodges's car at Palos Verdes, California. Descriptions compare their folded surfaces to brains: one was much larger than the other, and both appeared bluish amid a localized mist. The men left the area in alarm.
The account later expanded during hypnotic sessions in 1976. Hodges described communication he interpreted as telepathic, an enclosed room with humanoid occupants, and screen imagery associated with dangerous concentrations of power. Those later recollections are a different evidentiary stage from the original roadside observation.
The Hatch bibliography points to D. Scott Rogo's Alien Abductions and Flying Saucer Review, volume 25, number 3. The plate concentrates on the car-headlight encounter. The linked Zeta-Files episode specifically covers the Palos Verdes case; its interpretation is the video's own, rather than an Atlas finding.
