Tonle Sap, Cambodia being encounter — September 1971

A retrospective account set in the Tonle Sap region of Cambodia in September 1971 describes American and Thai special-forces personnel encountering an unusual object during a jungle mission. The ledger places the event around 11 a.m.; a later Rosales summary says evening. No exact day, independently identified unit or contemporaneous operational document is provided in the accessible account. The soldiers reportedly followed a humming sound into a clearing and found a large spherical object resting on four legs. More than a dozen humanoid figures moved around it carrying instruments. They were described as approximately five feet tall, with grayish-white skin and silver one-piece suits. This description is more specific than simply calling them generic 'greys', but supplies little detailed facial anatomy. In the published sequence, a young corporal fired at one figure, which went limp. A taller being approached, gestured and struck the soldier, who lost consciousness. The figures then gathered their equipment, boarded the sphere and departed vertically after its legs retracted. Rosales attributes the report to Peter A. Bostrom. The accessible source does not independently verify the military narrative or establish an abduction. The plate shows the reported sphere, crew and soldiers together before the violent episode, with the retrospective status and artistic limits explicit.
