Case description
The Banbury entry summarises a regional series, beginning in the catalogue on 18 September 1971, rather than a single close encounter. Over roughly a week, reports included dumbbell-like objects, elongated forms and saucers, alongside a hairy figure. The abstract supplies no unified witness list or observation sequence linking every object and being. Its military and civilian codes do not establish that all participants watched the same event.
Related Oxfordshire literature describes a tall hairy creature near the old Wantage canal on 25 September. Linda Milne reportedly saw it enter woodland; two teenage boys separately claimed it followed them and that a disc later rose from a nearby field. These are associated regional claims, not direct proof that the creature boarded the object. Another frequently retold roadside encounter involving lorry driver Len Delman is dated 27 September and should not be substituted for the original seven-day summary.
The source trail includes J. D. Llewellyn’s Flying Saucer Review material. The wider Banbury wave continued beyond this short catalogue interval and later attracted broadcast and research attention, but that broader history cannot supply precision absent from this record. The illustration is explicitly a regional composite: a contextual canal-side witness and hairy figure are placed with a distant object form from the aggregate summary. It does not assert a single simultaneous encounter, a common origin for the reports or an established species.
