Near Fortaleza, Brz being encounter — November 1971

The native entry groups reports from Ceará in November 1971 under the broad label near Fortaleza: a fast, silent disc, separate landing reports and one account of small occupants. A more specific story in Flying Saucer Review identifies farmer Raimundo Nonato at Fazenda Jirimum in the municipality of Ipu. It should not be treated as an encounter witnessed by every regional observer. Walter Bühler reproduced a clipping from O Povo dated November 8. In that version, Nonato saw an intensely bright disc approach from the south, manoeuvre and land. He went closer and believed three small figures were inside, but remained too far away to distinguish their features. The object departed silently after a short interval. A Case Histories-derived summary instead says three little beings jumped out on a rocky hill near the farmhouse, and that the distressed farmer reported the incident to police. The two versions agree on three small occupants but differ over whether they were inside or outside the object. Hatch’s southward-flight wording also differs from the clipping’s approach from the south. The plate follows the external-occupant variant and labels the Ipu farm location; it does not invent faces, uniforms, recovered traces or a single continuous sequence for the wider wave.
