Case description
An unnamed twenty-three-year-old man reportedly encountered a luminous object while walking home after visiting his fiancée near Rowsham, Buckinghamshire, during December 1971. Later catalogues give approximately 1:30 a.m. but no exact day. He noticed a light above the road which flashed and appeared as a greenish, bullet-shaped object.
A beam allegedly extended from the object to the ground, and a very tall figure in a silvery one-piece suit emerged and glided toward him. The witness said he could not move. The figure passed a hand up and down in front of his face, producing a tingling feeling, and he interpreted the experience as information being taken from his mind. It then returned to the beam and rose toward the object, which vanished in a bright flash. The man reportedly ran about a mile before encountering a police car.
Hatch adds approximately one hour of missing time, but the accessible fuller summary does not explain how the interval was established. Jenny Randles’s Abduction is the cited narrative source; an AFU library listing also preserves a Rowsham investigation booklet by Andrew Collins and Barry King. No original police statement or named witness interview was retrieved. The account does not provide detailed facial features or establish that hypnosis was used. The plate therefore keeps the figure’s face indistinct and treats the road and craft proportions as contextual.
