Case description

On July 25, 1972, around 9:15 p.m., Maureen Puddy was driving on Mooraduc Road near Frankston, Victoria, when she reported another encounter with the blue object she had seen earlier that month. Her signed report gives the location as Mooraduc and describes an iridescent blue light above the car. This time the engine stopped and the car came to rest beside the road. Puddy said she received words inside her head, understood as a reassurance that the visitors meant no harm and an instruction to tell the media. She remained in the car during the experience. As the impressions ended, she said the engine started by itself, the blue illumination disappeared and the object was gone. Another vehicle then approached along the road. She drove to Rosebud police station to report what had happened and afterward contacted the RAAF, completing another report form. Keith Basterfield's review drew on interviews by the original investigators and her July 28 signed form. Her subsequent accounts of a figure and an unfamiliar room belong to later episodes.
