This Atlas entry compresses several Natal reports into one line dated 16 August 1972. The fuller chronology separates them. At Roosboom that evening, Elias Khosa reportedly encountered an unusual figure while walking home. Its head was not visible to him; small flames appeared around its feet. After he invited it home for a drink, it allegedly sped into the veld, emitting smoke and flame.
The rectangular-headed figure belongs to a Mayville report dated 19 August. Jane Claasen and eight-year-old Ingrid Hansen first saw something beyond a fence behind Thelma Hansen’s Molver Road home. Hansen described a tall figure in a long white cloak, with a boxlike head, luminous details along its sides and fiery eyes. Several people reportedly watched it hover, rise and move away. A separate Roosboom account on 21 August concerned Doris Muthwa and her daughter seeing a very tall white-clad figure with coloured chest light by a river.
The chronology attributes these stories to P. J. Human’s Flying Saucer Review reporting. Their dates, witnesses and descriptions should not be combined into one simultaneous meeting. A distinct accompanying vehicle is not described in these recovered episodes, despite the Atlas’s general UFO classification. The plate therefore illustrates only the Mayville phase, without inventing a saucer.
