Case description
At 5:40 a.m. on September 21, 1972, factory employee Teodoro Merlo entered the IKA-Renault washrooms at Santa Isabel, near Córdoba. He had locked the premises earlier that night. Carrying soap and towels, he noticed a figure seated on a washbasin beneath a darkened lamp. As he approached, another lamp failed with a sharp sound; the first illuminated, revealing that the figure had disappeared. Merlo searched the rooms and found both entrances locked.
Oscar A. Galíndez’s investigation describes a robust, exceptionally tall figure in a close-fitting dull dark-blue one-piece garment. Its exposed skin appeared chalk-white, with a rounded hairless head, pointed ears, large horizontal slit-like eyes and long fingers. The estimated standing height came from reconstructing its seated posture, rather than measuring a standing visitor.
That evening Merlo reported seeing a similar face in a bus mirror although no matching passenger was present. He supplied sketches, later reported symptoms, and eventually informed factory security. These are reported sequels, not independently established alien effects. No craft or boarding appears in this encounter. The case must remain separate from other Santa Isabel incidents; Galíndez’s proposed paranormal interpretation is a hypothesis.
