The fuller account corresponding to the imported Asbury, South Carolina, entry is placed near Jonesville on Route 18, about thirteen miles south of Gaffney, on 19 January 1973. Rosales gives approximately 11:25 p.m., in conflict with the import’s 11:30 a.m. An unidentified young driver saw a domed object standing on three legs across the highway and initially suspected an accident.
About a dozen normal-height men stood around it in white coveralls and gloves. Their heads were uncovered, their hair jet-black and their faces described as light-skinned. Belts, buckles and buttons were visible. Those facing away slowly turned toward the approaching car. The figures and scene seemed to ripple as though viewed through heat waves. The object glowed dark yellow and flashed multicoloured lights; a lowered door appeared to form stairs on its far side.
The driver believed the object spanned the road, preventing passage around it. He became frightened, turned onto a side road before reaching the group and drove away. A later visit reportedly revealed no landing traces. The catalogue identifies this as HUMCAT 1973-1. No conversation, detailed witness identity or verified explanation accompanies the account; the men’s ordinary reported appearance should not be replaced with Grey morphology.
Opens at the January19,1973 Highway18 roadblock case in the Spartanburg regional chapter. The underlying dossier gives the more specific Jonesville/Gaffney Route18 location while the imported title says near Asbury. The programme does not resolve the catalogue's AM/PM difference, and the reported men are described as human-looking in the fuller account.
