Case description
M. Brechant, his eleven-year-old son Patrice, and his brother-in-law Cosme reportedly observed unusual lights near Thérines and Songeons in the Oise, France, around midnight on March 24, 1973. They were traveling by car on an outing intended to look for UFOs when a luminous ball in a field drew their attention.
The fuller account describes briefly visible bright rectangular forms and an attempt to drive around the light for another view. A second light reportedly emitted a triangular beam close to the ground. Looking through binoculars, Cosme described two indistinct broad-shouldered silhouettes, one apparently moving along the beam and disappearing near its end. The beam and object then faded.
On their return journey, a yellow-white light reportedly followed the car and came closer. The source trail leads to M. Carof and M. Lesbros's investigation for Lumières dans la Nuit. The silhouettes' appearance and unusual apparent motion remain witness descriptions, not identified technology. The illustration concentrates on the field observation.
