Case description

Miguel Ángel González reportedly encountered a group of very small people while driving construction materials from La Tinaja toward Tierra Blanca, Veracruz, in May 1973. The common date is May 22, although a later Mexican reassessment gives May 18. One account specifies five proportionately human adults, about two feet tall, with light-brown complexions and black hair, raising their arms in the roadway. González said he stopped and approached, but the figures scattered into roadside vegetation. On returning, he found his truck burning, with flames described in retellings as blue. Claims that a selective beam destroyed the vehicle and even its asbestos cargo became central to the UFO version. No observed spacecraft is required by the reported sequence; the ledger itself carries a no-flying-object classification. Héctor Escobar Sotomayor's published reassessment records highway officer Jesús Rodríguez de Ramos's suspicion of an ordinary mechanical fire. It also cites Luis Ruiz Noguez's material analysis: overheated components and oil-soaked load-bed wood could account for combustion, while noncombustible sheets were scorched rather than consumed. That provides a concrete conventional explanation, not proof of an alien weapon. The plate illustrates the alleged small figures before the fire and labels the account disputed.
