The witness in the fuller Penong account was a woman travelling as a passenger in a semi-trailer bound for Perth, rather than the truck's driver. On the night of 6 September 1973, between Penong and Ivy Tanks on the Eyre Highway, she reportedly awoke after hearing a voice and noticed a brightly illuminated, egg-shaped object on the ground to the left of the road.
A normal-sized, human-looking figure was walking toward an open door. Through a roughly square window she saw a second figure seated inside, looking upward at something within the object. Both were described as wearing white-silvery suits. The truck continued past, and the object's light rapidly faded. By the time she persuaded the driver to stop, only a single white light remained visible.
The account entered HUMCAT and David Webb's study of the 1973 humanoid reports. The voice was part of her reported experience; neither its origin nor a telepathic mechanism was independently established. The checked summary does not establish that the driver saw the occupants. It also supplies no detailed faces or other nonhuman anatomy. The reconstruction therefore places the woman in the passenger seat and retains the two distinct positions of the reported figures.

FROM THE STARS: Twelve Astounding Extraterrestrial Encounters
The woman passenger reported the figures; the driver is not established as an occupant witness. The voice that woke her was not identified. The film’s suggestion that she was deliberately alerted is interpretation, rather than a demonstrated communication or onboard encounter.
