Nohant-En-Gout, FR being encounter — October 1973

An early-morning encounter near Puy-Verday, Nohant-en-Goût, was attributed to a worker named Chubert in autumn 1973. The ledger gives October and 5:20 a.m.; other catalogues give late September or a different hour. His motorbike reportedly misfired and stopped. After pushing it uphill, he noticed a dazzling, ovoid object hovering just above the road with mist or smoke beneath it. A very tall, thin humanlike visitor approached, placed a hand on his shoulder and spoke reassuringly. It reportedly wore an aluminium-looking suit and a large helmet resting on its shoulders, fitted with a snorkel-like tube. Chubert likened the face to one seen through a nylon stocking, with narrow eyes. The exchange concerned his journey to work, and the visitor discouraged him from approaching the object. The account ends with the figure returning beneath the vehicle, which rose with a buzzing sound and departed; the motorbike then worked again. Its publication trail includes Lumières dans la Nuit and subsequent compilations, whose dates and tube-side details differ. No recovered equipment or independently measured engine failure is established. The plate retains the distinctive helmeted humanlike figure and ovoid while using an autumn date rather than asserting a disputed day.
