Case description
A brief October 1973 report from Effingham County, Georgia, describes several motorists noticing a tiny silver man beside a road. The Hatch digest places it on October 18 at 9:20 p.m. near Route 17. Its essential reported action is simple: a line of traffic slowed while drivers looked at the small figure, and the witnesses remained in their vehicles.
Ann Druffel included the story in her discussion of the 1973 occupant wave in FSR 21(1), citing The News of Savannah dated October 20, 1973. She said the witnesses requested anonymity and that none dared get out of a car. That published paragraph gives no exact height, face, eye shape, clothing construction, movement pattern or departure. It does not describe a spacecraft, a landing witnessed by the motorists or a sampling implement.
The original newspaper item and named firsthand interviews were not recovered, so a line of cars cannot be treated as multiple independently documented statements. The imported sampling-tool classification and the term Grey add specificity that the text does not support. The plate therefore shows an unresolved small silver-colored humanlike form in the roadside headlights, with observers inside period cars. Its precise appearance and road layout are illustrative, while the absence of a reported craft is explicitly labelled.
